When is the 2026 Wynyard Tulip Festival?
The Wynyard Tulip Festival will be held on Saturday 10 October 2026, from 11am until 9pm.
Where is the festival held?
How much does it cost to attend?
No. General admission is free and you do not need to book a ticket to enter the festival.
Individual operators may require payment or bookings for particular experiences. Details will be included in the 2026 festival program as they are confirmed.

Do I need a ticket?
Entry to the Wynyard Tulip Festival is free.
There may be charges for food, drinks, rides, games, helicopter flights, merchandise and some other commercial activities.

What can I expect at the festival?
The Wynyard Tulip Festival is a full-day celebration of spring, community and the region’s iconic tulips.
The 2026 festival is expected to include:
- live music and entertainment
- food and beverage vendors
- market and community stalls
- family-friendly activities
- thrill rides and games
- helicopter flights
- sustainability and educational activities
- a fireworks finale.
Is the festival suitable for children?
Yes. The Wynyard Tulip Festival is a family-friendly community event, with entertainment and activities for a range of ages.
Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult, particularly around busy areas, rides, roads and the riverfront.
When will the 2026 program be available?
The detailed 2026 program, performance times and event map are being developed and will be published on the festival website closer to the event.

Will there be fireworks?
Yes. The festival is planned to finish with a fireworks display near the end of the evening.
The exact fireworks time will be included in the final festival program. Fireworks are weather and safety dependent.
Visitors with young children, sensory sensitivities or animals should be prepared for sudden loud noises.
What time should I arrive?
You can arrive at any time between 11am and 9pm.
The festival attracts a large crowd, particularly during the afternoon and before the fireworks. Arriving earlier may make it easier to find parking, use the shuttle bus and explore the festival precinct.
Is the festival held every year?
The Wynyard Tulip Festival is an annual celebration held during the Table Cape tulip season.
First established in 1991, the festival has grown from a community-run celebration into one of Tasmania’s most recognised regional events.
What happens if it rains?
The festival is an outdoor event and spring weather in North West Tasmania can change quickly.
Visitors should dress for the conditions. Activities, performances or site arrangements may be changed, postponed or cancelled if required for safety.
Check the festival website and social media pages before travelling for any last-minute announcements.
Tulips and the Table Cape Tulip Farm
Are the tulips located at Gutteridge Gardens?
The large commercial tulip fields are located at Table Cape Tulip Farm, approximately 15 minutes from central Wynyard.
On Festival day, a free shuttle service will operate on a continuous route between Frederick Street Reserve parking, the Festival stop in Little Goldie Street and Table Cape Tulip Farm.
The Festival and shuttle are free, however normal admission fees apply at Table Cape Tulip Farm.
Is the Table Cape Tulip Farm part of the festival?
The Wynyard Tulip Festival and Table Cape Tulip Farm are separate attractions.
The festival in Wynyard is free to attend. The Tulip Farm is privately operated and its normal admission fees apply.
Is there a shuttle bus to the Tulip Farm?
Yes. Wynyard Bus Lines will operate a free Festival shuttle on a continuous loop throughout Festival day:
Frederick Street Reserve → Festival stop at Little Goldie Street → Table Cape Tulip Farm → Festival stop → Frederick Street Reserve
The Festival bus stop is located in Little Goldie Street, outside the Wynyard Community Centre.
The shuttle is free. Normal admission fees apply when entering Table Cape Tulip Farm.
How much does it cost to enter the Tulip Farm?
The Table Cape Tulip Farm sets its own admission prices:
TULIP FARM ENTRY FEES ONLY.
Entry for The Tulip Farm: Adults: $18
Seniors/Concessions/Student: $16
Children 6-17: $4

Do I need to book the Tulip Farm shuttle?
No booking is required for the general Festival shuttle. The service will operate as a continuous loop between Frederick Street Reserve, the Festival and Table Cape Tulip Farm.
Capacity may be limited during busy periods, so please allow extra time and follow directions from shuttle drivers and Festival staff.
Will the tulips definitely be flowering?
Tulip flowering is seasonal and can be affected by weather and growing conditions.
The festival is scheduled to coincide with the annual Table Cape tulip season, but the timing and appearance of the blooms cannot be guaranteed. Check with the Table Cape Tulip Farm for the latest flowering information.
Getting to the festival
Where should I park?
The recommended Festival parking area is Frederick Street Reserve, 1A Lowe Street, Wynyard.
From there, visitors can use the free Festival shuttle, which travels between Frederick Street Reserve, the Festival and Table Cape Tulip Farm.
Other parking options and any temporary parking arrangements will be shown on the Festival traffic and parking map once road closure arrangements are finalised.
Please avoid blocking driveways, businesses, footpaths, emergency access or other vehicles.
Is parking free?
Public parking in Wynyard is generally free. Parking spaces will be limited due to the size of the event and temporary changes within the festival precinct.
Visitors are encouraged to use the designated parking area and free shuttle service where possible.
How does the festival parking shuttle work?
Wynyard Bus Lines will operate a free shuttle on a continuous Festival-day route:
Frederick Street Reserve → Festival stop at Little Goldie Street → Table Cape Tulip Farm → Festival stop → Frederick Street Reserve
The Festival stop will be located in Little Goldie Street, outside the Wynyard Community Centre.
Please allow additional time during peak periods.
Is the shuttle bus accessible?
The main Festival shuttle buses are coaches and are not wheelchair accessible.
Wynyard Bus Lines will have a dedicated wheelchair-accessible Toyota Coaster available on demand throughout the event. The vehicle can accommodate approximately 2–3 wheelchairs and can transport passengers between Frederick Street Reserve, the Festival and Table Cape Tulip Farm.
If you use a wheelchair and arrive at a shuttle stop, please make yourself known to the shuttle driver. The driver will contact the accessible vehicle and arrange for it to collect you.
Please allow additional time for the accessible vehicle to arrive.
Is accessible parking available?
Accessible parking is planned at:
- Frederick Street Reserve, 1A Lowe Street
- Little Goldie Street Carpark
- James Muir Community Health Centre.
Spaces are limited and subject to availability. A valid accessible parking permit must be displayed.
Will there be road closures?
Temporary road closures and changed traffic conditions will be required around parts of Gutteridge Gardens, the foreshore and Wynyard’s central business district.
Detailed road closure information will be published closer to the festival. Please follow temporary signage and directions from traffic controllers and event staff.
Can I walk to the festival?
Yes. Wynyard is relatively flat and the festival is within walking distance of the town centre and many surrounding residential areas.
Walking may be the easiest option for local residents, particularly during busy periods.
Can I ride my bicycle?
Visitors from Wynyard, Somerset and surrounding areas can use the Coastal Pathway to ride or walk towards the festival.
Please slow down around pedestrians and dismount in heavily crowded areas. Bicycles should be secured outside busy event spaces without blocking pathways, entrances or emergency access.

Where are the festival entrances?
The main entrance is near the intersection of Goldie Street and Hogg Street.
Additional entry points are planned from the East Wynyard Foreshore and Jenner Street, near the upper end of Gutteridge Gardens.
Entrances may be adjusted as the final 2026 event layout is confirmed.
Can I take a pram on the shuttle bus?
Yes, however the Festival shuttle buses are coaches and prams cannot be wheeled directly onto the bus.
Prams must be folded and stored in the luggage compartment underneath the coach before boarding.
Passengers need to use three steps and a handrail to board the coach. Shuttle drivers can assist with storing folded prams and other items if required.
Is Table Cape Tulip Farm wheelchair accessible?
The Table Cape Tulip Farm’s Café, Art Gallery and Gift Shop are wheelchair accessible.
Access to the Tulip Field is limited for wheelchair users due to the terrain.
If you have specific mobility or accessibility requirements, please contact Table Cape Tulip Farm before your visit to discuss available options. Please note that on Wynyard Tulip Festival day, demand is likely to be higher than usual and assistance may be limited.
Accessibility and visitor facilities
Is the festival accessible?
The Festival aims to provide a welcoming and accessible experience for everyone.
An accessible-standard pathway runs through the main Festival area, although some activities are located on grass or other outdoor surfaces. The site can become crowded, particularly during the afternoon and evening.

Can I use a wheelchair, mobility scooter or pram?
Yes. Wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams can be used throughout the Festival site.
Most main routes are accessible, although visitors should expect high pedestrian traffic and some grassed or uneven areas.
Please note that the general Festival shuttle coaches are not wheelchair accessible and prams must be folded before boarding. A dedicated wheelchair-accessible vehicle will be available on demand.

Where are the accessible toilets?
Accessible public toilets are available or planned at several locations, including:
- Gutteridge Gardens toilet block behind the Main Stage
- CBD Plaza, next to Noah’s on Goldie Street
- Woolworths toilet block, accessible from Jackson Street and Saunders Street
- Wonders of Wynyard on Exhibition Link
- Old Bass Highway public toilets opposite Lockett Street
- Rotary Playground toilets near Pitt Stop Café

Where can I ask for help during the festival?
The Festival information tent will be located near the main Gutteridge Gardens entrance.
Festival staff and volunteers wearing high-visibility clothing will also be available throughout the Festival precinct to provide information and directions.
Can I bring a support person or carer?
Yes. As general entry is free, no separate admission ticket is required for a support person or carer.
Individual paid activities may have their own participation requirements. Please speak directly with the activity operator or contact the festival team before the event.

Can I bring my dog?
Dogs and other companion animals are permitted at the festival, but owners should carefully consider whether the environment is suitable for their animal.
The festival can be crowded and includes live music, rides, helicopters and fireworks. It may not be appropriate for animals that are anxious, reactive or sensitive to loud noises.
Animals must:
- remain on a leash and under effective control
- stay close to their owner in crowded areas
- be kept out of designated animal-free areas
- not interfere with other visitors, animals, vendors or activities.
Owners must clean up after their animals and are responsible for their animal’s behaviour and any injury or damage it causes.
Should I stay for the fireworks with my dog?
Fireworks can cause significant distress to animals.
Visitors bringing a dog or other animal are strongly encouraged to leave the event well before the fireworks begin.
Is first aid available?
First aid support will be available during the festival.
The location will be shown on the event map. In the meantime, speak to a staff member, volunteer or the team at the information tent if assistance is required.

What should I do if I become separated from a child or family member?
Go directly to the information tent or speak to the nearest staff member or volunteer in high-visibility clothing.
Families are encouraged to choose a meeting point when they arrive and ensure children know to approach festival staff if they become separated.
What should I do if I lose something?
Speak with the team at the information tent during the festival.

You may also wish to contact Tasmania Police if the item has not been handed in to the festival team.
Will photographs be taken at the festival?
Photography and filming may take place throughout the event for promotional, media and documentation purposes.
Visitors taking personal photographs should be considerate of others and seek permission before taking close-up photographs of individuals, particularly children.
How can I apply to be a stallholder?
Stallholder applications are managed through the Waratah-Wynyard Council website.
Applicants should review the fees, terms and conditions, event map and document requirements before submitting an application. Visit the festival’s Join page for current application dates and availability.
Can I perform or provide entertainment at the festival?
Expressions of Interest are invited from musicians, performers, workshop providers, roving entertainers and other suitable acts.

Volunteer opportunities may include event setup, information support, activity assistance, crowd guidance and pack-down.
